First I want to give thanks for the Most High for blessing me with a talent to express myself through music.

Let me introduce Jeron McDermott to world. I was born in the sunny island of Jamaica in a village called Hampstead in the parish of St Mary. I originate from a large family, in a household of 5 boys and 5 girls. I am the second to last child and the youngest boy with a sister 3 yrs my junior.

At the age of 13 yrs old I left home and went off to Spanish Town where I lived on the streets for some years. As a street kid I use to sing in the market place as a form of surviving. 2 years later I went off to Ocho Rios where I lived with one of my old friend, Henry Wilson whose mother got me involve as an apprenticeship in a mechanic garage. I then move on the the tourist trade and start working first as a kitchen cleaner and porter. Not long I was being train as a chef. Within a few weeks I was a full time chef.

While working on coffee bars at hotels I would entertain the guest by singing and building up my vocal harmony. I later met Courtney Cole and starting visiting his studio "Roof Recording Studio" and start appearing on stage shows over the island, meeting most of my icons in the music industry.

At the age of 34 yrs old the Almighty made a way for me to come to England and there my dreams started to fulfil. I started to get inspiration from my past and every day living. I started to do something that I always wanted to do ......write and sing my own lyrics.

May 2006 I release my first single "I'm on my way" while attending sessions at "Super Star Records", later that year I also release "Holding On" for Pick Out label.

I am presently promoting my 2 singles "Letter to Mama" and "Mama Africa". These are inspired and dedicated to my deceased mother Mama Daphne for the love that she had showed to me throughout her lifetime. I will be releasing my first album early next year ......WATCH THIS SPACE........

I am still young on the music scene and so the world is still yet to see the best of Ras Ackeem.

I want to thank you all my fans and people for the love that you have showed to me and from strength to strength I will keep your musical soul alive.
